Philip Keohan
Philip Keohan lives in Wellfleet with his wife. He has worked for over thirty years as a school psychologist/guidance counselor in schools in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Philip has family ties to Provincetown, Truro and Wellfleet, where he spent summers until moving to Wellfleet in 1988. This time, combined with summers as a Cape Cod National Seashore Interpretive Park Ranger has given him knowledge of many often unexplored areas.
An avid cyclist, runner and meditator, Philip spends much time running on the fire roads and sea cliffs of the Outer Cape, with his camera and tripod in tow. For this photographer, running, meditation and photography go well together. Running often becomes his meditation. With a camera in hand he must be constantly aware and in the present moment to compose and capture an image or feeling.
Whether photographing an expansive subject or focusing in on detail, Philip’s images reflect the sense of peace that is present in nature. Great pleasure is derived from looking through a camera lens and finding a new view of something that has become familiar.
Philip’s Images are shown at the Left Bank Gallery, Wellfleet Massachusetts.
